BAN 108o. That’s our goal and we dont mind if we ruffle a few feathers in ridding Aotearoa of this terrible eco-toxin that’s being scattered all over our backcountry willy nilly. This page is for people who believe in a gutsy campaign and who dont shy away from protest. In this regard, we’ll be like our famous Nuclear Free movement, where we we used every tool in the tool box, allowed for free discussion, took PROTEST ACTION and finally WON. The only people I’ll exclude from this site are well-known supporters of 1080 poison such as Sue Jensen Boyd of the 1080 Does The Job You Dont page, people who play both sides of the argument like Mike Hepburn, and anyone who proves themselves a mindless attack dog

Friends of Sherwood are a non-profit community group who have been working hard to enhance their neighbourhood, The Taiaotea, since June 1990. We run an Eco-Community Recycling Centre and Workshop, The Green-Bee Hive, at 15 Woodlands Cres, Browns Bay: AND are busy replanting 2 kilometres of stream bank in native species to improve the habitat and water quality and therefore the beach at Browns Bay.     COMPOUND 1080 IS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS.
    Rated by the USA Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as a chemical “BAD ACTOR” and a MALE REPRODUCTIVE TOXIN, 1080 is also rated as a Class 1a EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS CHEMICAL, by the World Health Organisation. (W.H.O.) (United Nations) and even in small doses can produce reproductive defects in humans. 1080 MAY BE AN ENDOCRINE DISTRUPTOR.
    Recent research by scientist’s worldwide has raised very serious doubts about whether the continued use of 1080 is safe for total environmental and human health. The old justifications by the NZ Gov’t to use 1080 are no longer valid
